Harry Lee Wunnenberg, 66, of Burlington, died at 9:38 AM Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at his home.

Born June 21, 1948, in Burlington, he was the son of Harry Arthur and Ellen Elizabeth Fensterbush Wunnenberg.

Harry worked for Aspen Grove Cemetery for 36 years.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War from March 13, 1968 until March 12, 1970.

He was a member of the American Legion. He loved to help others, especially his friends. He loved spending time with his dog, Shorty.

Survivors include his fiancée, Patricia A. Pitts of Burlington; one son, Adam Lee Wunnenberg of Burlington; one daughter, Candace (Richard) Grimmett of Colorado; one sister, Minnie Friedrich of Burlington; one step-son, Michael Pitts of Burlington; three step-daughters, Annette (Matt) Newton, Tammy (Mike) Trickler, and Jenny (Chad) Stewart, all of Burlington; 16 grandchildren, Amber Pitts, Aaron Pitts, Roy Garza, Matthew Garza, Careena Cain, Cassy Pitts, Maria Pitts, Chase Stewart, Trever Johnson, Sable Trickler, Addison Trickler, Chloe Wunnenberg, Haylee McMann, Brayden McMann, Maximus Wunnenberg, and Patrick Johnson; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Danny, his grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Thielen Crematory.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Wunnenberg will be from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM Saturday, January 31, 2015 at his home, 8021 139th Street, Burlington.

A memorial has been established in memory of Harry.
