New London, Iowa, December 8 - James W. Larkin, born October 2, 1851, died at his home in New London, Iowa, December 7, 1919, at 7:20 p.m. after a three weeks' illness. He is survived by the widow and the following children: Lee and Bert Larkin of Kansas City, Missouri, Sam Larkin of New London, Mrs. Ira Marshall of Sperry, Mrs. Wiley Cunningham of Fairfield, Guy and Ray Larkin of Springfield, Colorado, and Orval at home.

He also is survived by several grandchildren and three brothers, Sylvester Larkin of Fresno, California, A. B. Larkin of Greensburg, Kansas, and W. F. Larkin of Burlington. Mr. Larkin was born and reared in Des Moines county and came from one of the pioneer families.

He was a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal church in which he has always taken an active part. He will be missed by many friends. The funeral services will be held from the family home in New London, Wednesday, December 10th at 11 a.m., to which friends are invited. The interment will be at Loper cemetery in Sperry.
