Fern Anna Johnson Gray, 92, of Danville died Sunday, May 20, 2007, at New London Nursing and Rehab Center in New London.
Born February 13, 1915, in rural Danville, she was the daughter of Walter and Nellie Poggemiller Johnson. On March 31, 1936, she married Theodore R. Gray in Mount Pleasant.
She was a homemaker and assisted with the family farm. She worked as a nurse's aide for a short time. She was of the Methodist faith. She was a member of Senior Citizens, Moose and Eagles in Burlington. At 90, she started the Danville Senior Card Club. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crafts, flowers and gardening.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Nancy Krogmeier of Danville and Deloris Grosvenor of Fremont; three sons, Darrell Gray of Kyle, Texas, Donald Gray of West Burlington and Gary Gray of Midlothian, Virginia; 11 grandchildren; step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, two brothers and one sister.
Visitation with family will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel in New London.
Graveside services for Mrs. Gray will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Jaggar Cemetery in Danville, with the Reverend Dot Hasler officiating.
A memorial has been established.
