Helen L. Bauman, 75, of West Burlington, died at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2000, at her home.

Born August 9, 1925, in Yarmouth, she was the daughter of James E. and Orva M. Featherby Horn. She married Leonard Bauman on September 16, 1944, in Mount Pleasant.

Mrs. Bauman was a graduate of Yarmouth High School. She worked as a waitress at Howard Johnson's and from her home also was a seamstress of alterations and quilting.

She was of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, camping, flowers, cooking and country music shows and loved attending her grandchildren's sports activities.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Lynette Furnald of Carlsbad, California; one son, Leslie Bauman of West Burlington; three grandchildren; one brother, Clyde Earl Horn of New London; and one sister, Mona Quiroga of Lancaster, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, one son and three brothers.

Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Friday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Bauman will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Lunning Chapel, with Pastor Bob Hary officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Mount Union.

A memorial has been established for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
