Everett E. Durr, 80, of West Burlington, died at 7:17 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2001, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born May 7, 1920, in McGregor, he was the son of Arthur and Hilma Eggan Durr. On April 12, 1945, he married Dorothy Kalitowsky.
Mr. Durr was a truck driver for Churchill Trucking Co. for 42 years. He retired in 1982.
He attended McGregor and Burlington high schools. He was of the Protestant faith. He was a World War II Army veteran. He enjoyed camping and traveling.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Karen Gorman of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sons, Robert Durr of Mount Pleasant and Ronald Durr of Mediapolis; eight grandchildren; seven great-grand-children; two brothers, Kenneth Durr of Bettendorf and Leroy Durr of California; and one sister, Elizabeth Frese of McGregor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one infant brother.
Visitation will begin after 8 a.m. Monday at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mr. Durr will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. David Mixon officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
