Billy Wayne Douglas, 72, of Burlington died at 5:08 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born March 13, 1936, in Stockport, he was the son of Chester A. Douglas and Grace L. Hammons.
Mr. Douglas worked at J & D Deli for 15 years and the Iowa Ordnance Plant.
He was a family-oriented man and was a member of Four Square Gospel Church in Burlington. He was an artist and enjoyed painting, cooking, catering, camping and fishing.
Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Gray of Gladstone, Ill., and Rhonda Junker of Burlington; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gertrude Lite of Glasgow and Dorothy Sams of Mediapolis; nieces; and nephews; and great-nieces; and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Visitation with family will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Four Square Gospel Church.
The funeral for Mr. Douglas will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Four Square Gospel Church, with the Rev. Sam Fratt officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Great River Christian School.
