Jenny Lee Mehaffy, 80, of Burlington, died at 5:43 PM Monday, December 29, 2014, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born February 27, 1934, in Donnellson, IA, she was the daughter of Chris and Alice Clingman Gabel. On September 30, 1951, she married David W. Mehaffy, Jr. in Burlington, Iowa. He died January 23, 2013.

Jenny worked for Winegard Company for 36 years, retiring in 1995.

She was a 1951 graduate of Fort Madison High School.

Jenny was a bowler for 40 years and had served on the board for 30 years. She received the Merit Award, was in the Hall of Fame, and a member of the Sheldon Kings Daughters Circle. She volunteered at Great River Medical Center. She enjoyed playing cards, playing dominos at Laura's, bingo, traveling and spending time with her family.

Survivors include two sons, Chris (Cindy) Mehaffy and Steven (Linda) Mehaffy, both of Burlington; one daughter, Martha (Chris) Inghram of Burlington; eight grandchildren, Nathan, Chevonne, Luke, and Noah Mehaffy, Quinton and Jade Inghram, Jill Mehaffy-Nally and Jena Inghram-Lief; 16 great-grandchildren one sister, Joan (Gary) Harmeyer of West Point, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM Friday, January 2, 2015 at Thielen Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM.

The funeral service for Mrs. Mehaffy will be 10:00 AM Friday January 2, 2015 at Thielen Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Graber officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at the Eagle's Club 2727 Mount Pleasant Street, Burlington, following the service. Cremation will be entrusted to the care of Thielen Crematory following the service. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials have been established for the Woman's Bowling Association Scholarship Fund and Great River Hospice House.
