Archie L. Brockway. 84, of 340 Belmont, died at Burlington Medical Center Friday, June 12, 1981.

Mr. Brockway was born at Des Moines County, March 8, 1897, to Harry and Bertha Timmerman Brockway. He married Ella Goble, at Burlington, October 18, 1922.

He was a retired farmer and a US Army veteran of World War I.

Surviving: the wife; two sons, Elwood Brockway, Burlington, and Robert Brockway, Mediapolis; eight daughters, Marjorie Rice, Morning Sun, Viola Basquin, Sperry, Marian Andries, Cantril, Mary Malone, Burlington, Eleanor Breuer, Sperry, Gladys Wiley, Burlington, Pauline Massey, Mediapolis, Delores Christofferson, Burlington; one brother, Willie Brockway, Burlington Route 2; two sisters, Ethel Howe, Kingston, Eva Fitchorn, Burlington Route 2.

Funeral: 1 p.m. Monday, Giles-Elliott Funeral Home; Burlington Memorial Park.
