Mrs. Fern J. Higdon, 62, Route 1, died at 9:47 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 1989, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born July 21, 1927, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Clark and Grace Allen Gulick. She married Louis "Jr" Higdon Jr. October 28, 1943, in Kahoka, Missouri.

She was a homemaker and belonged to Women of the Moose.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Louis E. Higdon, Bullhead, Arizona, and Larry Higdon, Las Vegas, Nevada; one brother, Raymond Gulick, Belle Plaine; one sister, Mrs. Frances Mattson, Los Angeles, California, five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be today at Lunning Chapel.

The graveside service for Mrs. Higdon will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Burlington Memorial Park cemetery, with the Reverend Richard Gilbert officiating.
