DEATH CAME VERY SUDDENLY TUESDAY CHARLES VOLMER, (?) EMPLOYE, CALLED BY DEATH. Was an Excellent Citizen.-Funeral to Be Held in Burlington.
Charles Volmer, foreman of the Burlington freight house here and a well known man in this city, passed away at the Sacred Heart hospital Tuesday afternoon following a severe attack of appendicitis.
Mr. Volmer, who _____ent of Burlington, has been in the employe of the Burlington railroad here for the past several months, during which time he has accumulated a large number of friends and associates who were greatly shocked at the news of his untimely death.
Charles Henry Volmer was born in Burlington, Iowa, February 2, 1873, where he spent the greater part of his life until he moved to this city several months ago. He was 46 years 4 months and 29 days old at the time of his death.
The deceased is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. Volmer of Burlington, Iowa, four children, one brother and six sisters, and a host of friends.
The body was shipped to Burlington Tuesday evening for burial there Thursday afternoon.
