Olive Smith, 93, of Burlington, died 1:30 AM, Saturday, May 7, 2005 at the Burlington Care Center.

Born July 3, 1911, in Roswell, SD, she was the daughter of Bernie and Lillie Hayer Van Pelt. On April 28, 1930, she married J.C. Smith in Artesian, SD. He died December 27, 1981.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker.

She loved cooking and keeping house. She had loved to golf, bowl & fish.

Survivors include one daughter, Beverly (James) Starr of Burlington; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous great great-grandchildren; one sister, Carol Randol of VanCouver, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C., and sons, Darwin and Maurice.
