Ms. Barbara L. Edmunds, 67, of Burlington died at 9:25 p.m. Monday December 8, 2014, at Burlington Care Center with family by her side.
Born November 30, 1947 in Burlington she was the daughter of Ernest Stites and Margaret Mary Grath Stuller. She married Kenneth Stutsman and later divorced. She also married Michael Edmunds and later divorced.
Ms. Edmunds received her business associate degree from the Drake University secretarial program. She was a homemaker and also worked as manager of a BG's Buy and Bye and manager of Labor Ready Business.
Ms. Edmunds was of the Baptist faith. She was an accomplished pianist and accordion player. She enjoyed spending lots of time with her grandchildren, playing her accordion at the holidays, late night shopping trips with her daughters and being around people. Ms. Edmunds had a heart of gold and an open door for anyone.
Survivors include her children, Kenny Stutsman, Krista Edmunds and Kara Edmunds all of Burlington and eight grandchildren, Leshawn Wilson, Andrian Wilson, Kobe Edmunds, Jett Morris, Jalen Morris, Madelyn Stutsman, Emily Stutsman and Julian Harris.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert Stites and Joey Stites.
Family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Sunday, December 14th, at Lunning Chapel.
The funeral service for Ms. Edmunds will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 15th, at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Dean Graber officiating.
A memorial has been established.
Cremation has been entrusted to Lunning Chapel and will be accorded following the funeral service.
