Mediapolis (IA) -- Mrs. Zella M. Witte, 88, Mediapolis, died at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 13 (1985), at her home.

She was born May 9, 1896, in Henry County, to F. Les and Nancy I. Wells Lynch. She married Edward F. Witte, September 2, 1914, in Prairie Grove; he died June 22, 1964.

Mrs. Witte was a housewife, a graduate of Excelsior School and a member of the United Methodist Church of Mediapolis.

Surviving: A son, Lemoyne E. Witte, Morning Sun; two daughters, Fern Swanson, Morning Sun, and Duella Robertson, Burlington; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday, United Methodist Church at Mediapolis, Dr. Gene Gardiner; Kossuth Cemetery. Memorials have been established for her church and for Hospice of Southeast Iowa.
