Ronald (Ron) Dean Snyder, 70, of Burlington passed on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

Ron was born August 27th, 1944 to parents Howard and Bessie (Moody) Snyder in Washington, Iowa. He married Marsha (Stagers) on August 24, 1969 in Richland Friends Church, Richland, Iowa.

Ron worked 32 years for USDA - Natural Resource Conservation Services. In retirement Ron was a District Commissioner for the Conservation Service, served as a substitute teacher, and volunteered for the Iowa Organ Donor Network from which he received a liver transplant in 2001. Ron also was a member of many community and service organizations including C.R.I.S.P. and N.R.F.E.

Survivors include Spouse, Marsha (Stagers) Snyder of Burlington; Children, Tammera (Mark) Kappes of Cedar Rapids, Rachelle (Brad) Fideldy of Hutchinson, Kansas, Dustin (Megan) Snyder of Burlington; Grandchildren, Diosha Johnson, Allison Cruise, Nathan and Marissa Fideldy, Dominic, Christian, and Aliya Snyder; Brother, Junior (Ann) Snyder of Richland; Father-In-Law, Dick Stagers of Richland; Five Sisters-In-Law; Two Brothers-In-Law; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, brother-in-law, mother-in-law, and grandparents.

Friends may call from noon until 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 9th, at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.

The funeral service for Mr. Snyder will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 10th, at First Christian Church - Disciples of Christ with the Rev. David Yonker officiating. Inurnment will be in Richland Friend's Cemetery, Richland at a later date.

Memorials will be established for the Iowa Organ Donor Network and First Christian Church in Burlington, Iowa.

Cremation has been entrusted to Lunning Chapel and will be accorded following the funeral service.
