Everett M. Heynen, 86, 2500 Kirkwood St., Burlington, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 1996, at Elm View Care Center.
Born May 21, 1910, in Beaver County, Okla., he was the son of Ernest and Estella Osborne Heynen. On June 28, 1941, he married Alice Smith in Kahoka, Mo.
Mr. Heynen was a salesman for Brown Tobacco Company and worked at IRC in Burlington for 27 years.
He was a member of West Burlington United Methodist Church, Izaak Walton League, United Commercial Travelers, American Legion Post 0052, Blackhawk Boosters and a former member of Carthage Lake Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and sports, including basketball.
Survivors include his wife; one sister, Marjorie Heynen of Shelbina, Mo.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Visitation will be from 730 to 830 p.m. Sunday at Sheagren's Funeral Home.
The funeral for Mr. Heynen will be 1030 a.m. Monday at Sheagren's Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jack Wolgamuth officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Middletown.
A memorial has been established for West Burlington Methodist Church.
