Clarence John Bischoff, 71, 1908, Mason, died at 12:20 a.m. Wednesday in Mercy hospital.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Wallen's chapel with Reverend Paul R. Daussman officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.

Bischoff was born January 21, 1889, the son of Theodore and Mary Bischoff. He was married for 52 years to Anna Gardner who died in 1949. On August 30, 1952, he married Maud Weaver at Carthage, Illinois.

Bischoff had worked for many years as a carpenter. He was a member of St. Luke United Church of Christ and the Moose lodge.

Surviving are his wife; a son, James Howard Bischoff, Burlington; six daughters, Mrs. Margaret Pierson and Mrs. Marceline Seibert, both of Burlington, Mrs. Fern Taeger, Anaheim, California, Mrs. Neoma Meller, Wever, Mrs. Virginia Williams and Mrs. Jean Anhalt, both of Burlington; 18 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; his stepmother, Mrs. Elsie Bischoff, Burlington; a stepson Walter Coon, Norfolk, Virginia; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Katherine Moyers, Burlington, Mrs. Ruth Gorman, Des Moines, and Mrs. Lucille Cain, Burlington; 12 step-grandchildren; a stepbrother, Lavern Bischoff, Burlington; two stepsisters, Mrs. Elsie Shadley and Violet Bischoff, both of Burlington.
