Robert Horace Hugg Sr., 72, of Sperry, died at 420 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, 1996, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born Oct. 3, 1924, in Burlington, he was the son of Harry and Grace Marie Schulz Hugg. On Dec. 24, 1943, he married Violet E. Schemmer in Lake Tonawanda, N.Y. They later divorced. He then married Lucille F. Miller on Dec. 27, 1969, in Burlington. She died Nov. 18, 1973. He then married Belva Mae Franklin on May 21, 1976, in Monmouth, Ill.
Mr. Hugg was a machinist for Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad before his retirement.
He was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of VFW Post 10102, Eagles, Moose, American Legion, International Association of Machinists 531 and was an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Pamela D. Beavers of New London and Marcia Schneider of Linden, N.J.; one son, Robert H. Hugg Jr. of Sperry; one stepdaughter, Kathy Penrod of Burlington; two stepsons, Davy Huffman of Burlington and James Huffman of Springfield, Ill.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; seven stepgrandchildren; one sister, Betty Asby of Davenport; and nieces and nephews.
Besides one wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister and one stepson.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Prugh's Chapel.
The funeral for Mr. Hugg will be 1 p.m. Monday in Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Milton Geisler officiating. Burial with full military honors by VFW Post 10102 will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
