Elizabeth B. "Betty" Hartman, 82, of Davenport, formerly of Burlington, died at 317 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 1996, at Manor Care Health Service in Davenport.
Born July 11, 1914, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Henry and Bertha Strauss Bierstedt. On Dec. 17, 1937, she married Russell K. Hartman in Burlington. He died April 30, 1985.
Mrs. Hartman worked as a secretary at Sunnyside Elementary School in Burlington for 17 years.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Mariam Circle of the church and King's Daughters.
Survivors include two sons, John Hartman of Bettendorf and Richard Hartman of New Orleans, La.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Bierstedt of Charlottesville, Va.; two nieces and one nephew.
The funeral service for Mrs. Hartman will be 230 p.m. Saturday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Carl J. Engstrom officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Bethany Lutheran Church.
