Mr. Kevin Raymond Rhodes, 58, of Burlington died Friday, September 19, 2014, as the result of drowning.
Born July 31, 1956 in Burlington, he was the son of Harold D. and Marie (Heater) Rhodes. On January 17, 1981 he married Diane Laue in Burlington. They later divorced.
Mr. Rhodes worked at I.A.A.P. in production and then as a control engineer. He also did custom boat restoration.
Mr. Rhodes had a strong Christian faith. He loved fishing and invented fishing lures that were in high demand by bass fishermen. He also loved water skiing, photography and hunting and fishing with his son.
Survivors include one son, Adam Rhodes of West Burlington; two step daughters, Marcy (Dustin) Dirth of LaHarpe, Illinois and Tricia Gerling of Burlington; six step grandchildren; his mother, Marie Rhodes of Burlington; one sister, Judy (Bob) Murphy of Burlington; one niece and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
The memorial celebration of life for Mr. Rhodes will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, September 27th, at the Beach Shelter House at Geode State Park with Pastor Ken Petersen officiating.
A memorial has been established.
Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
