Marilyn Kay Vojcihoski, 66, of Yarmouth, died at 9:00 PM Thursday, July 17, 2014, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born November 23, 1947, in Ottumwa, she was the daughter of Marion and Esther Orman Carruthers. On April 28, 1987, she married Larry Vojcihoski in Austin, TX.

For most of her life, she worked as a cook and managed various restaurants. She loved animals and cooking. She also enjoyed researching genealogy. Marilyn was a very loving and compassionate wife, mother, sister and friend.

Survivors include husband, Larry Vojcihoski of Yarmouth; two sons, Larry (Theresa) Hulen Jr. of Salem and Eugene (Bibiana) Cooksey of Austin, TX; five grandchildren; one sister, Linda Kent of Austin, TX; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sandra Carruthers; and one brother, Donald H. Orman.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Thielen Crematory.

There will be no visitation or services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Des Moines County Humane Society and St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.
