Mary Irmalea Richenberger, age 81 of Morning Sun, died Thursday June 5, 2014 at the Morning Sun Care Center. The daughter of Carl and Mary (Mehaffy) Linder, she was born May 5, 1933 at Burlington. On June 14, 1958 she married Rex Richenberger at Media, Illinois. He died February 11, 1988. She was a graduate of the Morning Sun High School and attended Business College for one year in Burlington. She worked for the Des Moines County Dept. of Motor Vehicle and also at the Mellinger Library in Morning Sun. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Morning Sun First United Presbyterian Church and active in church related activities.

Survivors include: one daughter, Shirley Bashusen of Illinois; three sons; Ron Richenberger and Sam Richenberger both of Morning Sun; Jim Richenberger of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Bob and one daughter in law Lu.

The funeral service will be held Monday June 9, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church in Morning Sun, with Rev. Sue-Ellen Sherman officiating. Interment will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5-6:00 p.m. at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun where the family will be present to greet friends.

Memorials have been established for First United Presbyterian Church and Mellinger Memorial Library.
