RUFUS TAYLOR RAY DIES AT THE HOME OF DAUGHTER HERE

Native of Tennessee Had Lived In Centerville Past 10 Years; Retired Farmer

Rufus Taylor Ray, colored, 78, died at 7:00 p. m. January 14, 1946 at the home of his daughter Mrs. Stella Bolden at 713 East Wilson street.

Mr. Ray, who was well known here and a member of the Second Baptist church, was born in Tennessee, May 12, 1867. Mr. Ray had been a farmer for a major portion of his life and following his retirement had lived with his daughter. Many here mourn his passing.

He is preceded in death by his wife and two children. Mr. Ray had been a resident of Centerville for the past 10 years.

Funeral will be conducted by the Rev. A. W. Patton, pastor of the second Baptist church, at a time to be announced later.

Funeral services for Rufus T. Ray, colored, will be held Friday at 2 p. m. from the Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. A. W. Patton, pastor of the Second Baptist church, will officiate and burial will be in Burlington, Iowa.
