Delbert Charles Tiemeyer, 90, of Burlington, Iowa, died at 4:04 a.m. Friday, October 31, 2003, at the Great River medical Center, West, Burlington, Iowa.

Born November 30, 1912, in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of Charles Fred and Laura Lehman Tiemeyer. On February 20, 1935, he married Stella Louise Kubisch in Burlington. She died may 27, 1992.

Mr. Tiemeyer worked as a tool & die maker, for Sheafer Pen, Sylvania and IAAP before his retirement.

He attended eight years of school.

He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.

He was a past president of the Local Society for the preservation of Barber Shop Singing in America and Former Treasurer and Board Member of the Des Moines County Association for Retarded Citizens, which is now referred to as Hope Haven Development Center. Mr. Tiemeyer also was a Former member of the Machinist Union, Current member of United Commercial Travelers, AARP Chapter 820, Southeast Iowa Area Parkinson Support Group, World Wild Life Fund and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 150.

Survivors include tow sons, Richard Wayne Tiemeyer and Donald Lee Tiemeyer, both of Burlington; two nieces and one nephew; several greatnieces and nephews; and many cousins.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother.

Visitation will be at 8:00 a.m. on Monday. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Tiemeyer will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at Prugh's Chapel with the Rev. Carl Engstrom officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Garden of the Cross.
