Paul C. Orr, 89, of Mediapolis, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at Great River
Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born Aug. 30, 1913, near Manchester, Iowa, he was the son of Charles Joseph
and Louise B. Eggimann Orr. On Oct. 14, 1936, he married Dorothy Louise
Pilling at Mediapolis. She died Dec. 17, 2000.

He was a graduate of the Mediapolis High School. He was a longtime member of
the I.O.O.F. of Mediapolis and was a member of the Mediapolis First United
Methodist Church.

Mr. Orr was a retired farmer and operator of a corn sheller, liked to collect
coins, loved to garden, can the produce and cook.

Survivors include one daughter, Marlene and Robert Beckman of Mediapolis;
three sons, Paul R. and Judi Orr of Burlington, Charles R., and Sandra Orr of
Mediapolis and Harold J. and Billie Orr of Camdenton, Mo.; 14 grandchildren;
one brother, Lloyd Orr of Mount Pleasant; and four sisters, Karolena Orr,
Dorothy Burns and LaVonda Miller, all of Mount Pleasant, and Arlene Seager of
Reynold, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, Charles Orr, and
one sister, Mary Thomas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday from the Hagele and Honts
Funeral Home in Mediapolis. Interment will follow at the Kossuth Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday at the funeral home, with the family meeting with
friends from 4 to 6 p.m.

Memorials have been established for the Mediapolis Ambulance Service and the
Mediapolis United Methodist Church.
