William Thomas "Bill" Collins, 81, of Mineral Point, Missouri, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at his home.
Born July 30, 1925, in Danville, he was the son of Bate and Dorothy Trainer Collins. On February 1, 1978, he married Rose Amanda Politte in Mineral Point.
He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of the VFW. He loved horses and watching football.
Survivors include his wife; his children, Terry Collins of California, Thomas Collins, Charles Collins, Dorothy Cain, Johnny Politte, all of Mineral Point, Cindy Walls of Rolla, Missouri, Jim Politte and Ruth Politte, both of Hopewell, Missouri; two sisters, Juanita Gavler and Debra Collins, both of Iowa; 21 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one stepson and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were conducted on May 10 at Britton Funeral Home Chapel, Potosi, Missouri, with the Reverends Jim Wade and Joe Gensler officiating.
The Potosi VFW Post 6996 held a Veteran's Memorial Service on Wednesday, May 8.
Interment was in Hopewell Cemetery.
