James D. Calloway 1927 - 1997

Calloway died Saturday, September 13, 1997, at his residence.

He was born January 10, 1927, in Burlington, Iowa, and moved to Lubbock in 1974. He married Oneda Neff on September 25, 1970, in Fort Madison, Iowa. He graduated from New London, Iowa, High School and attended Burlington, Iowa, Junior College and Missoula University in Missoula, Montana.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of American Legion Post #147 in Marion, Illinois. He worked for Mason Hangers (sic) for 17 years in Middletown, Iowa, and for Hicks & Ragland in Lubbock from 1973 to 1976. He also worked for Sullivan Electric from 1986 to 1992 in Marion, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by a son, Marion Keith Jr., on June 14, 1978.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Connie Carson of Crown Point, Indiana, and Peggy Wagner of Medina, New York; three sons, Craig Calloway of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, Michael Keith of Clovis, New Mexico, and Dwain Keith of Knoxville, Iowa; two sisters, Mary Catherine Calloway of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and Marge Sheetz of O'Fallon, Missouri; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
