Dorothy Edith Beckman, 74, of Danville, died at 5:18 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2000, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born Oct. 28, 1925, near Burlington, she was the daughter of William and Nora Bernhart Gerling. On Aug. 14, 1948, she married Lloyd L. Beckman in Burlington.
Mrs. Beckman was a homemaker. She was a volunteer at Burlington Medical Center since 1981.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Gary L. Beckman of Danville; one grandson; three brothers, Everett Gerling of West Burlington, Leslie Gerling of Kingston and Donald Gerling of Mediapolis; one sister, Opal Shaffer of Mediapolis; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Beckman will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. David Mixon officiating. Burial will be in Long Creek Cemetery in Danville.
Memorials have been established for the Diabetes Association and Danville Rescue Squad.
