Carl Raymond Allen, 73, of Burlington, Iowa, died at his home on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. He was born April 24, 1941 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Otis Allen and Geneva Mayer. He married and later divorced.

Carl was a truck driver with Consolidated Freightways and GSTC Freightways for 39 years. He enjoyed socializing with friends and cold beer. He loved stories about his granddaughter playing softball and school activities.

He is survived by one daughter Tabatha Allen Rosauer of Burlington; two step-daughters, Melissa Seitz of Monte Alto, Texas and Nancy Jennings of Burlington, Iowa; one step-son Derrick Jennings of Oakville, Iowa; several grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Larry Dean Allen.

Funeral Services will be held in Prugh’s Chapel, Monday, May 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor JudyAnn Morse will officiate. Following the service, cremation will be entrusted to the care of Prugh Funeral Service. Interment of ashes will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a time to be announced. A memorial has been established in his memory. No formal visitation is planned.
