Lorraine Carol Liggett, 80, of Burlington, died at 7:34 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2003, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born July 30, 1922, she was the daughter of Harry and Ada Herrick Brown. On Sept 13, 1942 she married Gerald R. "Bud" Liggett. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Liggett was employed at Schramm's for 30 years. She was a member of First Methodist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Melinda Dodds of Miami, Fla.; two sons, Gerald R. Liggett Jr., of Gladstone, Mo. and William Liggett of Seattle, Washington; four grandchildren, two brothers, Harry Brown Jr. of Ft. Myers, Fla. and Harold Brown of Grand Junction, Colo., and nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral.

The funeral for Mrs. Liggett will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Methodist Church with the Rev. Dennis Tevis officiatiing. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
