Geraldine S. “Geri” Kranzler, 85, of Burlington died at 9:25 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Burlington Care Center.

Born Nov. 5, 1928, in Mediapolis, she was the daughter of Perry and Esther Lucas Hummer

Ms. Kranzler worked 21 years as a retail sales clerk for Eagles Food Store, retiring in 1995. She graduated from Burlington High School, and enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling and camping with her grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Ted Kranzler of Burlington and Jeff Kranzler of New London; three grandchildren; two brothers, Bernard Hummer of Mediapolis and Wayne Hummer of Lincoln, Neb.; one sister, Darline Wagler of Burlington; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

No visitation or service is planned for Ms. Kranzler. The body has been cremated, and private burial will be at a later date in St. John’s Cemetery in rural Burlington.

Lunning Chapel in Burlington is in charge of arrangements.
