AL E. WHITE IS DEAD
FORMER LOCAL CITIZEN PASSED AWAY
IN NEW YORK CITY

Was Publisher of the Bankers' Law Journal
and a Leading Figure in New York Financial Life.

Alfred D. White, one of the country's leading financial journalist and a native of Burlington, died at his home in New York City Tuesday evening according to word received here by his sister, Mrs. E.J. Webster.
Mr. White was born in Burlington November 7, 1854,and received his early education in the local public schools. In 1886, he left Burlington for the east, and after many years of struggling worked his way up to the top rung of the ladder and goals of his ambition as publisher of note of America's leading financial publications.
To survive him he leaves a brother, Edward White of Chicago; one sister, Mrs. E.J. Webster of Burlington and two half-brothers, William Boyer of Vancouver, and A. Boyer of Middletown, Iowa.
