Orrin Smith

Orin D. Smith, former area resident, died Wednesday at the Park Manor Nursing Home in Burlington. He was born and raised in Libertyville.

Smith, 76, was the son of John R. and Edna Jane Potter Smith. He was married in 1927, to Winifred Smith who preceded him in death in 1965.

Smith was a WWI veteran. After the war he worked for the Burlington Railroad in Burlington and Ottumwa until his retirement. He had lived in Burlington since retiring.

Surviving are three stepsons, Al Smith of Davenport, and Ed Smith and Wilbur Smith, both of Fairfield; a brother, Orville of Libertyville; two sisters, Mrs. Esther Elliott and Cleo Smith, both of Fairfield.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Lunning and Elliott Funeral Home in Burlington. Burial will be in Burlington.
