Bertrand "Sinker" Robinson, 83, of Burlington died at 3:55 a.m. Thursday, October 22, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Born January 15, 1926 in Burlington, he was the son of Bertrand Landcaster and Dorella Weicher Robinson. On October 29, 1946 he married Phyllis Smith in Burlington.
Mr. Robinson was a graduate of St. Paul Catholic School and attended St. Ambrose College. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and was a Prisoner of War in Italy.
Mr. Robinson was the president of B. L. Robinson and Co., retiring in 1990. He was a member of SS Mary and Patrick Catholic Church in West Burlington, Lions Club, Burlington Golf Club, Knights of Columbus, Chamber of Commerce, Elks Club, YMCA, and Notre Dame Foundation. He was active with church activities. He enjoyed playing golf and bird watching.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Robinson of Burlington; one son, Tim Robinson of Arizona; three daughters, Judy (Chip) Osbourne of Grapevine, Texas, Lisa (Jim) Jennison of Burlington and Erin (Chris) Green of Urbandale; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; five sisters, Donna Coffield of Keokuk, Patsy McGoon of Burlington, Mary Lee Hauser of Freeport, Illinois, Joan Hinkson of Lawrence, Kansas and Joyce Adamson of Sacramento California; and one brother, Dick Robinson of Burlington.
His son, Rick Robinson, parents and sister, Lois preceded him in death.

Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites.
