Sperry (IA) -- John Lawrence Niehaus, 69, of Sperry, died Friday, November 27 (1970), at 7:40 a.m. at his home.

He was born October 9, 1901, in Des Moines county, the son of Henry and Mary Riepe Niehaus. He was married February 24, 1932, to Alma Burgus. He was a farmer and a member of the Lutheran church.

Surviving: his wife; a daughter, Gloria, Sperry; a son, Gary, Ottumwa; three brothers, Henry, and Clarence, both of Sperry, and Harry, Mediapolis; one sister, Mrs. Ray Johnson, Moline, Illinois.

Services: Monday, November 30 at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran church in Mediapolis, Reverend John W. Meyers; St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery in Benton township.
