John Hartman

John Dewey Hartman, 63, Rt. 2, died Friday morning in Burlington hospital after an extended illness.

He was born at Hutchinson, Kan., Oct 19, 1897, the son of John and Lydia Hartman, and was married to Florence Hockman.

A retired IOP engineer, Hartman was of the Baptist faith and was a World War I vet and member of the Masonic Lodge.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Betty Steele, of Burlington, and Eunice Garrison, of Des Moines; a son, John, Jr. of Burlington; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Grover, of Hutchinson, and R. Dell Hartman, of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Cummings, of Columbia, S.C., and Mrs. Eunice Hazel Partridge, of Burlington, and several nieces and nephews. Six brothers and three sisters are dead.
