MRS. MAGDALINA WAHL PASSED AWAY THIS MORNING

Was One of the Pioneer Members of the Old Zion Church and a Woman Much Beloved.

Mrs. Magdalina Wahl, widow of John Adam Wahl, passed away this morning at 8:30 o'clock at her home No. 853 North street. She was a pioneer woman of Des Moines county and one well beloved and highly respected by a large circle of friends. Her husband passed away in January.
Magdalina Reif was born in Pike Co., Ohio, August 10, 1837. With her parents she came to Des Moines county in 1845, where the family located on a farm. She was married to John Adam Wahl in Decatur, Ill., July 11, 1861. Three years later they came to Burlington, which has since been the family home. Mrs. Wahl was a faithful member of the German Methodist church for fifty-eight years, having joined in the Old Zion church. She is survived by two daughter, Mrs. O. Muenzenmeyer and Miss Lydia and four sons--Phillip, George, Arthur and Frank. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Henry Quell and Mrs. Henry Ockert and two brothers, William Reif and George Reif. There are eight grandchildren. All will miss the kindly old lady. (Wm & SJ. Donath #48116482)
