Obituary.
Death of Mr. Stephen Ronaldson.Wednesday morning the community was startled with the announcement that Mr. Stephen Ronaldson had fallen from a building which he was constructing, and was fatally injured. The report proved to be true, and the unfortunate many breathed his last, early in the afternoon, but a few hours after the accident.
He was working on the roof of Mr. George Sweeny's new residence, and it is thought, was standing near the edge, and stepped back, slipped on the tin gutter and fell backward to the ground, a distance of twenty-five feet, striking on his back on the sharp corner of one of the brick piers which had been put in the foundation for the portico. The spine was broken, between the shoulder blades , and he was insensible from the time of the accident until hes death. which occurred about two o'clock.
The deceased resided at the end of the street car track, nearly a mile beyond the city limits. he had resided in Burlington for many years, was well known to the majority of our citizens, and enjoyed the confidence and esteem of all his acquaintances.
He leaves a wife and family, in deed distress at the affliction which has so suddenly visited upon them, and the heartfelt sympathy of our citizens will go out toward the sorrowing relatives, who feel so deeply the terrible loss which they have sustained.
