Crowner rites in Burlington

BURLINGTON - Charles Crowner, 68, native of Fairfield, died Monday at his home, 68 Plank Road, in Burlington.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Lunning Funeral Chapel in Burlington. The Rev. Larry Winkler will officiate and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery where military rites will be conducted. Crowner was a veteran of World War II.

Charles Crowner was born April 4, 1915, in Fairfield. He was the son of John W. and Ethel Anders Crowner. He married Dorothy L. Heuer Nov. 9, 1936, in Wheaton, Ill. He was a farmer and a carpenter.

In addition to his widow, Crowner is survived by six daughters: Marjorie Allender, West Burlington; Lois Swieter, Springfield, La.; Donna Koons, Brookfield, Wisc.; Linda Lewis, west Burlington; Karen Bergren, Mediapolis; and Becky Patrick, Burlington.

Other survivors are three brothers, John, Clifford and Everett, all of West Burlington; two sisters, Ruth Young, Taylor Ridge, Ill., and Evelyn Magnuson, Rockford, Ill.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hope Haven in Burlington.
