M. Virginia Rinker, 93, formerly of Burlington, died at 5:37 a.m. Wednesday, November l8, 2009 at the Kahl Home in Davenport, Iowa.
Born September 20, 1916 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Carl A. and Lillian Kiesling Glantz. She married Louis A. Rinker on May 8, 1941 in Burlington. He died on July 10, 2006.
Virginia graduated from Burlington High School and Burlington College of Commerce. Prior to marriage, she worked at JI Case Company. She and her husband enjoyed socializing and dancing at the Elks Club and playing cards with friends.
Virginia was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time and visiting with her family and friends. She shared many good times with her three grandchildren. Virginia was a longtime member of St. John's Catholic Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Dahl-Harbeck of Bettendorf and Molly (Michael) Sharp of Davenport; grandchildren: K.V. Dahl III of LeClaire, IA, Nathan Sharp of Las Vegas, NV, and Sarah Sharp of Davenport, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister, and three infant grandsons.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rinker will be held at Prugh's Chapel, Burlington, Iowa, on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. The Very Reverend David Steinle will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
