Jeffrey Rites In Burlington.

Last rites were held in Burlington for Eugene T. Jeffrey, 68, native of Van Buren County, who died Saturday, May 18, at Memorial Hospital in Burlingtoon. Burrial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Eugene T. Jeffrey was born May 20, 1904, in Van Buren County, the son of Edwin and Luris Horn Jeffrey. He married Evelyn Johnsmeier Aug. 12, 1926. She died March 27, 1935.

He married Vera McAfee in Rock Island, Ill., July 10, 1936. Jeffrey formerly made his home near Batavia.

He later moved to Burlington where he was employed at the Iowa Ordinance Plant and still later at the Murray Iron Works where he worked until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Heitmeier, Sperry; Mrs. Audrey Miller, Milton Junction, Wis.; and Mrs. Delores Maxwell, Poway, Calif.; one son, Arnold, Sperry.

Also four brothers, Ralph, Fairfield; Roscoe, Stockport; Pitt, Ogalla, Neb.; Van, Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Ward, Batavia, and Mrs. Cora Brown, Fairfield; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Two brothers preceded him in death.
