Wilma J. Adolphson, 85, 310 S. Sunnyside, Mediapolis died Wednesday, May 8, 1991, at the Morning Sun Care Center.

Born Nov. 28, 1905, west of Mediapolis, she was the daughter of William and Eugenia (Archer) Lane. She married Carl Adolphson in 1929 who died in 1936. She later married Avery Adolphson on Apr. 25, 1943, who survives.

The couple farmed before retiring in 1959. She was a 1924 graduate of Mediapolis High School.

Survivors include her husband; six daughters, Elaine Brown, Mason City; Frances Lucas, Phoenix, AZ; Juanita Derby, Burlington; Kay Wirt, Mediapolis; Janice Hester, Burlington; and Alice Gibson, Chillicothe, MO; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be between 7 and 8 p.m. Thursday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, Mediapolis.

The funeral for Mrs. Adolphson will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Leland Eyres officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery, Mediapolis. Music will be provided by Korkee Carruthers, organist, and Laura Luttenegger, soloist. Casket Bearers: Timothy Brown, Thomas Brown, Scott Hester, Brian Hester, John Derby, Jesse Derby, Dan Wirt, Jeff Wirt, Darrin Wirt, Denny McMullin, David McMullin. Interment was in the Kossuth Cemeter.

A memorial has been established.
