Mrs. Clara Marie Behne, 64, of 422 May avenue, a life resident of this community, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday at St. Francis hospital after an 18-month illness.

She was born Sept. 16, 1885, in Des Moines county, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Saftig. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Frances Gorham and Mrs. Mary Meyer; 2 sons, Paul and Theodore(Ted) Behne; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Hancock, Mrs. Josephine Lutenegger, and Mrs. Laura Rudy; and a brother, Fred Saftig, all of Burlington. Ten grandchildren survive. Her husband, parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers are dead.

Services will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. in St. Patrick's church preceded by short services at Giles funeral home. Burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery. Rosary will be recited at the funeral home Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
