Danville Farmer Dies At His Home Thursday
John Jeremiah Jacob, Old Resident, Passes Away After Long Illness.

John Jeremiah Jacob, 87 years of age, died yesterday at his home in Danville after a long illness.

Born in West Virginia on September 7, 1837, he moved to Des Moines county about 60 years ago where he settled on a farm about three miles west of Danville. Twenty years ago, however, he gave up farming and moved to Danville where he lived until the time of his death.

Mr. Jacob is the last of a family of eight sisters and one brother. He married Amelia Fiialkowski, member of a well know Des Moines county family, June 6, 1872 and is survived only by her.

He was a member of the Congregational church for may years. Funeral services will be held at to o’clock Saturday afternoon from the family home with the Rev. Mr. V. B. Hill of the Danville Congregational church. Burial will be in Jagger cemetery.
