Rites Wednesday For Aged Member Of Sperry Church
Special To The Hawk-Eye Gazette.

Mediapolis (IA), September 14. -- Funeral services of William Burgus, a resident of Des Moines county 75 years, who died at Mt. Pleasant Sunday afternoon, will be held at the home at Sperry Wednesday at 2 p.m. additional services to follow at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Benton township at 2:30 o'clock, Reverend R. R. Belter of Burlington officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. He was one of the oldest members of the church.

Mr. Burgus was born in Germany, April 20, 1853, and came to this country when nine years old. With his parents he settled on the farm on which he resided until the time of his death.

He was married to Margaret Brumm June 21, 1877. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Charles E. of Sperry, Iowa; L. D. of Cedar Rapids; Harry A. of Burlington, and Mrs. Morris Schmidt of Sperry, Iowa; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; also a sister, Mrs. Charles Schuler, Sperry.

Two sons, W. F. and Fred E. Burgus, and three grandchildren preceded him in death.
