New London (IA) -- Walter Henry Miller, 83, a retired New London farmer, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 5, at Henry County Memorial hospital, Mt. Pleasant.
He was born March 14, 1892, in Danville, the son of John and Louisa Hingst Miller. He married Dorpha [Bertha] Hall December 30, 1914; she died August 12, 1947. He married Mildred Keuhnle May 12, 1950; she died July 1, 1966. He was a member of the Danville. Methodist church.
Surviving: Three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Klaus, Morning Sun, Mrs. Esther Bowles, Denver, Colorado, and Mrs. Gladys Nau, Danville; two sons; Amel, Farmington, and Frank, Yarmouth; one stepson, Elmer Keuhnle, Mt. Pleasant; four brothers, Edd and Henry, Danville, Alvie, Burlington, and George, Pleasant Grove; one sister, Mrs. Berchie (sic) Trueblood, Knoxville; 14 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday, Elliott Chapel, New London, Lee Ourth officiating; Jaggar cemetery. A memorial has been established.
