John H. Weaver, 86, of Mediapolis, Iowa, died Tuesday, November 26, 2002, at Prairie Ridge Care Center in Mediapolis. The son of John and Eliza Weaver, he was born September 1, 1916, at Aurelia. On June 21, 1968, he married Thelma L. Underwood at Kahoka, Mo. He was retired from Craftsman Press of Burlington and was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include his wife of Mediapolis; one son, John Weaver of Chicago, Ill.; three daughters, Pat Weaver, Oakville, Charlene Waters, Wichita, Kansas, and Susan Pratt, West Burlington; four step-children, Lois Schneider, Phoenix, Ariz., David Underwood, Wapello, Evelyn Walker, Morning Sun, and Chuck Underwood, Burlington; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters, and one son.

The family met with friends Sunday afternoon at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis.
Funeral services were held Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Gaulke officiating. Interment followed at the Kossuth Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for the Mediapolis Ambulance Service and the Prairie Ridge Care Center in Mediapolis.
