Elizabeth Mosena
Another Pioneer receives the final summons
Has been a resident of Burlington since 1852--Was widely known and well beloved--Survived by many descendants.
On Wednesday, August 19, at 11:11 a.m.; at the family home on Market street, occurred the death of Mrs Elizabeth Mosena, beloved wife of Melvin Mosena. This dear woman whose life in Burlington has been part of the history of this city for fifty years and more has lived a life of devotion to her husband and family, and has been active in every good work and influence in her ever large circle of friends and acquaintances. And in all this half-century her interest in and love for the church of her choice has never faltered or wavered, and so long as health and strength would permit, she has borne her part in all the services and work of the church. At the house of public worship, at the prayer meetings, at the last meeting, she was always the same faithful, devout sincere loving christian.
But the blessed influence of this elect saint was always most manifest in her devotion to her husband and large family, for anyone of whom no task was too much and no sacrifice too great. Her life has been full of usefulness, of good deeds and kindly ministrations and now, after the alloted three score years and ten, "after lifes's fitful fever she sleeps well." Her stricken husband and seven children still remain to mourn her loss and revere her memory.
