Dwight A. Beckman,87, of Kingston, died at 3:01 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2006, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born May 24, 1918, in West Burlington, he was the son of Alfred H. and Theresa S. Schnupper Beckman. On May 24, 1939, he married Ruby D. Klaus in Flint River Township.

Mr. Beckman was a lifelong farmer in the New London and Kingston area.

He was of the Protestant faith. He was a self-taught fiddler and member of the Old Time Fiddlers Association and the Bud Thornton Band, which played at Gustos's Restaurant in Oakville every Friday night as well as numerous nursing homes. He was a self-taught mechanic. He loved to travel, play cards, camp, hunt, use his metal detector and rock hunt. He spent many winters in New Mexico.

Survivors include his wife, one son, Wayne Beckman of New London; one daughter, Darlene Upton of Murtaugh, Idaho; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and one daughter. Burial in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
