Former Burlington resident William J. Panther, 77, 4902 Dickens Road, Houston, Texas, died Wednesday, April 23, at Houston. He was born November 11 1908, to Leonard and Bertha Panther. He married Mary Weingart on August 27, 1935, at Burlington.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Jean Panther, Sidney, Australia, Rosemary Dendy, Houston, and Kay Ellen Holzle, Stanford, Connecticut; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ervin Panther, Rock Island, Illinois, and Paul Panther, Burlington, and two sisters, Charlotte Grabbe, Inverness, Florida, and Ruth Estill, Jesup.

The funeral and burial will be at Houston on Saturday. Earthman's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
