Elbert G. Hartman, 71, 610 Washington, died at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24 in University hospitals, Iowa City. He was born Dec. 19, 1901 in Wever, the son of George and Bertha Jacobs Hartman.

He married Wilma Burrell in August 1922, in Wever. Mr. Hartman was a veteran of World War II and a member of the First Baptist church.

Surviving: The wife, two sons, Paul, Stronghurst rural, and Elbert, Crawfordsville, Ind., one daughter, Mrs. Earl Booten, Gladstone, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Robinson, Riverside, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
